PSYC Multi User Virtual Environment is a networkable chat system based on the Protocol for SYnchronous Conferencing. PSYC is interchanged between servers and clients, but users can also use telnet, Web-chat, or IRC clients to connect to the system. Chatrooms are programmable and cannot be hacked. Unlike IRC, everyone can run a PSYC server and be an equal member of the communication network.
