How many times have you been working with a resource file only to discover you need to manually tweak the .rc file itself (instead of working through the dialog editor)? Normally, what you would do is to go to the File Open dialog, search for the .rc file, set the Open As combo box to Text then click OK. Then, click OK to the resulting Visual Studio message that states that it needs to close the resource file first in order for it to allow you to open it in text mode.
