ConfigEdit is a powerful, text-based configuration management system which can be used to manage configuration files of all machines on a network. All configurations are stored within a repository and whenever a file is updated, it controls version information and can trigger user-defined commands (e.g., scp). Rolling back to an older version is very easy. Triggering commands (like "scp file account@myserver1") on each new version can be used to automatically distribute the new version to all machines that use that file.
