- Unsatisfied with the scripting support in existing MUD clients, I decided to write my own. OGC went through a couple Java implementations, first using AWT then using Swing, but was eventually abandoned because I could not get it to render text quickly enough. About a year later I picked it up in Python, first with the wxWindows and PyGTK toolkits, but eventually settling on Tkinter (due to its speed advantage and simplicity compared to the other two toolkits). The scripting support, however, is still lacking, for I stopped MUDing shortly after I began the final version.
